Table Top Expos
Linda outlines some of the dos and don'ts of table top exhibiting.
Every Business Association and Chamber of Commerce wants to hold a Table Top Expo at some point; the danger for exhibitors participating in these expos is the common inexperience of the organizer who is unaware of the requirements for producing an event that will deliver outstanding results for the exhibitors. Don't get me wrong, there are A LOT of great Table Top Expos out there, all I'm saying is to be cautious when signing on to exhibit at one!
Also keep in mind that Business Expos are basically an "Interactive Yellow Pages"; they are not commonly targeted to a particular market - attendees and exhibitors run the gamut and cover a broad spectrum of offerings and needs – like the Yellow Pages!
To give you the best opportunity to attain great results at a Table Top Expo, take a look at a few of the:
DOs and DON'Ts of Table Top Exhibiting!
Do: Take the time to learn about the producer of the event and the type of audience this group attracts to their meetings and functions.
Do: Take the time to learn how to present yourself in the most effective manner, you will have the competitive advantage – most other exhibitors in this arena are novices!
Do: Be very direct about the type of prospects you are looking for in your signage
Don't: USE A FISHBOWL to collect Leads!
Don't: Use a stack of give-aways to attract prospects; REAL prospects will be interested in your product with or without a promotional item.
Don't: Just show up with a few pieces of collateral to plop down on the table – take the time to plan for this event as if you were exhibiting in a large booth. Consider purchasing a Table Top Display, Table Skirt, Small Banner Stands, etc.
By following these few simple Dos and Don'ts at your next Table Top Expo you will definitely experience an increase in qualified leads! Good Luck!
